Heinrich Tahedl

Heinrich Tahedl (born July 1, 1907 in Oberlaa , † April 14, 1985 in Krems an der Donau ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .

Life

Heinrich Tahedl learned building construction from 1922 to 1926 at the Federal Trade School in Mödling and from 1926 to 1929 painting at the St. Anna School of Painting in Vienna . In 1932 he graduated from the Vienna School of Applied Arts , where he had studied from 1929.

Heinrich Tahedl worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist from 1933. From 1939 to 1945 he was a soldier in World War II . From 1959 he was a member of the Vienna Secession . In 1969 he bought the "Kranzlmühle" in Leodagger in Lower Austria , where he lived from then on.

Heinrich Tahedl's grave is in the Pulkau cemetery .

Heinrich Tahedl is best known for the glass paintings , mosaics and murals that he realized after the Second World War. Such works by Heinrich Tahedl can be found in more than a hundred buildings, including many church buildings. He often worked with the architect Ladislaus Hruska .

Several Austrian museums own works by Tahedl, including the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere , the Neue Galerie Graz , the Lentos and the Niederösterreichisches Landesmuseum .
