Lucy Soutter (born March 17, 1967 in Cirencester ) is a former English squash player .

Career

Lucy Soutter began her career in 1985. That year she won the Junior Women World Cup in Dublin after defeating Sarah Fitz-Gerald in the final. She also took part in the 1985 World Championships , where she celebrated one of her greatest career successes in individual with reaching the semi-finals. There she was defeated by the eventual world champion Susan Devoy in three sets. Between 1983 and 1990 she took part in individual world championships five times. In 1987 she stood for the only time in her career in the final of the British Open , in which she lost to Susan Devoy without winning a set.

With the English national team she was world champion three times. In 1985 she won the second game in the final against New Zealand against Robyn Blackwood in three sets. When she won the title in 1987 against Australia , she defeated Sarah Fitz-Gerald in the final without losing a set. In 1990 she remained without a final appearance. In addition, she was European champion with the English team in 1986 .

In 1983, 1985 and 1989 she was British national champion.
