Gerhard Emrich

Gerhard Emrich (* 1940 ) is a German Neo-Graecist and Byzantinist .

After studying Classical Philology , Modern Greek and Byzantine Philology and Theology in Marburg , Frankfurt am Main and Bochum , Emrich received his doctorate in 1973 from the University of Bochum . There he was then a research assistant and lecturer in Modern Greek and Byzantine Philology until his retirement in 2005. His publications include works on modern Greek literature and lexicography as well as translations from modern Greek.
