Gerhard Golz

Gerhard Golz (born January 9, 1911 in Eichwerder ; † April 20, 1973 in Bad Kissingen ) was a German lawyer and administrative officer .

Life

After graduating from high school, Gerhard Golz studied law, German, as well as newspaper and theater studies. He passed the first state examination in law and completed his legal clerkship in Friedeberg , Bonn and Berlin from 1936 to 1939 . After passing the second state examination in law, from 1940 he worked as an assessor for the district government in Aussig . In the same year he moved to the Hohensalza district government in the same position . There he was promoted to government assessor in 1941 and to government councilor in 1942. From 1944 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner, from which he was released in 1946.

After his release from captivity, Golz returned to the administrative service. From 1946 to 1961 he worked as a civil servant at the Ministry of Finance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia , was entrusted with the management of a special group in 1947 and was head of the central department of the ministry until 1959. In 1948 he was appointed senior government councilor, in 1951 ministerial advisor and in 1955 ministerial director. As such, he moved to the Ministry for State Planning, Housing and Public Works in 1961 (from 1967 Ministry for Housing and Public Works). From 1962 to 1967, the FDP member Golz, as State Secretary, was the deputy head of the state authority. From 1967 until his death in 1973 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Medium-Sized Enterprises and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .
