Gerhard Prinzing

Gerhard Prinzing (born April 22, 1943 in Kranzegg ; † October 13, 2018 ) was a German ski racer and Olympic participant. His sister Christa Prinzing was also an alpine racer. Both started for the Rettenberg ski club.

Prinzing began his international career in 1961. He was a participant at the Alpine World Skiing Championships 1966 in Chile Portillo . He also competed in the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble . There he placed seventh in the downhill and thus achieved his most important international result; in the giant slalom he was eliminated. In the same year he was German champion in combination . Prinzing was also German runner-up seven times in his career. He ended his career in 1971. He later operated ski lifts in the Kranzegg ski area in conjunction with a ski school.
