Gerhard Reiche

Gerhard Reiche (* 1920 in Osterwieck ; † 2014 ) was a German archivist and genealogist . He gained national fame through the compilation of numerous family books for places in what is now the Harz district .

Life

Gerhard Reiche was head of the Wernigerode City Archives until the first half of the 1970s. Then he devoted himself increasingly to the development of local family books; primarily from places in the Osterwieck parish , which later became part of the Halberstadt parish.

A large number of Gerhard Reiche's works are only available as typewritten manuscripts, which are administered in the Central Office for Genealogy at the Leipzig State Archives and in the Saxony-Anhalt State Archives , Wernigerode .
