Gerhard Renner
Gerhard Renner (born July 10, 1952 in Würnsdorf im Waldviertel ; † April 1, 2008 in Vienna ) was an Austrian librarian .
Renner attended schools in Pöggstall and St. Pölten (Matura 1970). He studied in Vienna with the aim of becoming a teacher. He worked as an educator at the School of the Vienna Boys' Choir and taught there in 1977. At the same time, he studied German and Romance languages and received his doctorate in 1981. From 1977 he was a research assistant at the documentation center for modern Austrian literature. In 1991 he moved to the Vienna City and State Library .
Most recently he was deputy director of the Vienna Library.
