Gerhard Renner

Gerhard Renner (born July 10, 1952 in Würnsdorf im Waldviertel ; † April 1, 2008 in Vienna ) was an Austrian librarian .

Renner attended schools in Pöggstall and St. Pölten (Matura 1970). He studied in Vienna with the aim of becoming a teacher. He worked as an educator at the School of the Vienna Boys' Choir and taught there in 1977. At the same time, he studied German and Romance languages ​​and received his doctorate in 1981. From 1977 he was a research assistant at the documentation center for modern Austrian literature. In 1991 he moved to the Vienna City and State Library .

Most recently he was deputy director of the Vienna Library.
