Gerhard Roewer

Gerhard Karl Herbert Roewer (born December 14, 1939 in Neustrelitz ; † April 28, 2019 in Freiberg ) was a German chemist and university professor .

Life

Gerhard Roewer graduated from high school in Neustrelitz in 1958 . He then studied chemistry at the Technical University of Leuna-Merseburg , graduating in 1963. He stayed at his university and received his doctorate in 1968. rer. nat. and completed his PhD in 1980 .

From 1980 to 1983 he worked as a research assistant in the Wolfen film factory , in Leuna-Merseburg he worked as a lecturer from 1981. In 1988 he was appointed professor of inorganic chemistry at the Bergakademie Freiberg . From 1990 to 1996 he was Vice Dean and from 1997 to 2000 Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Physics, in 2005 he was retired.

Gerhard Roewer was a member of the Chemical Society of the GDR and the Society of German Chemists . He was on the board of the association "Friends and Sponsors of the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg eV" and since 2006 has been editor-in-chief of the Acamonta magazine .
