Gerhard Sailer (monument conservator)

Gerhard Sailer (born November 29, 1931 in Vienna ; † December 17, 2002 ) was an Austrian lawyer and President of the Federal Monuments Office .

Life

Gerhard Sailer studied law and political science at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1953. After the court year, he worked for the financial procurator and passed the bar exam in 1959 . At the financial procurator's office, he represented the concerns of the business and science departments and the cultural administration, including the University of Vienna and the federal museums. From 1982 to 1997 he was President of the Federal Monuments Office .

Sailer was buried at the Grinzinger Friedhof (group 19, number 116).
