Gerhard Schott (politician)

Gerhard Schott (born August 10, 1801 in Frankfurt am Main ; † January 13, 1881 ibid) was a German landowner and member of the Nassau state parliament.

Gerhard Schott was the son of the Frankfurt businessman Johann Martin Schott (1766–1803) and his wife Sophie Elisabeth, née Hartmann (* 1765). On August 26, 1828 in Mörfelden he married Emilie Johanette Marie Margarethe Rosine, née Knatz (born June 28, 1808 in Mitteldick , today Zeppelinheim ), the daughter of the chief forester Georg Ludwig Knatz and his wife Eleonore, née Klink.

Gerhard Schott, who was a Protestant denomination, lived as a landowner in Kronberg im Taunus . From 1832 to 1838 he was a member of the estates of the Duchy of Nassau . He was elected to the group of landowners in the Wiesbaden constituency. During the conflicts between the duke and the liberal majority in the estates, which the duke ended with the pair push in 1832, he stood on the side of the government.
