Gerhard Sprenger

Gerhard Sprenger (born December 13, 1929 in Kassel ; † January 9, 1997 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Gerhard Sprenger studied law and political science from 1950 to 1954. After completing his legal clerkship, he worked for courts, authorities and local governments. He became head of the legal office and the compensation office of the former district of Hersfeld and most recently head of the North Hesse branch of the Hessian Association of Towns and Municipalities . In 1958 he became senior legal advisor at the district administration in Bad Hersfeld and, since April 1, 1979, commissioner of the State of Hesse for matters relating to the border area to the GDR in Bad Hersfeld.

politics

Gerhard Sprenger was a member of the socialist youth of Germany "Die Falken" from 1946 to 1956 and there for several years as chairman of the district Hessen-Nord. From 1954 to 1966 he was a member of the State Youth Welfare Committee of Hesse. Since 1931 Sprenger was a member of the SPD and from 1959 to 1969 chairman of the SPD sub-district of Hersfeld-Hünfeld-Rotenburg (Fulda).

In Kassel he was a city councilor from November 1, 1956 to October 9, 1958. Since 1963 he was chairman of the SPD city council in Bad Hersfeld. From December 1, 1966 to November 30, 1974 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament. In 1969 he was a member of the 5th and 1974 of the 6th Federal Assembly .
