Gerhard Steiner (psychologist)

Gerhard Steiner (born December 24, 1937 in Basel ) is a Swiss psychologist .

From 1948 to 1958, Steiner graduated from the mathematics and natural sciences high school and the teachers' seminar in Basel. He worked as a teacher and studied psychology , philosophy , mathematics and art history at the University of Basel , where he also received his doctorate in 1971. In 1978 he completed his habilitation at the University of Bern . From 1978, when he succeeded Hans Kunz , until September 30, 2003, he was a full professor of psychology at the University of Basel.
