Gerhard Völker

Gerhard Völker (born June 6, 1905 in Stettin ; † August 15, 1972 in Koblenz ) was a German politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Stettin in 1923, Völker studied law in Freiburg and Greifswald . In 1930 he passed his second state examination and became a lawyer in Stettin. After the Second World War , he settled in Koblenz as a lawyer in 1948.

politics

Völker was Lord Mayor in Stargard in Pomerania from 1934 to 1945 . In 1953 he was elected to the city ​​council of Koblenz for the FDP , where he was parliamentary group leader from 1957. From 1963 to 1971 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . There he was vice-president of the state parliament from 1967 until he left parliament in 1971.

Honor

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate honored him with the award of the Freiherr vom Stein plaque .
