Gerhard Wöllstein

Gerhard Wöllstein (* 1963 in Kirn ) is a German pianist , lecturer and choir director .

Life

Wöllstein studied piano with Gerhard Nieß at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz . He completed his training with Vitaly Margulis in Freiburg and with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling in Hanover .

Wöllstein gives piano evenings, concerts with orchestras (e.g. Rhineland-Palatinate State Philharmonic , Thuringia State Symphony Orchestra , Mainz Chamber Orchestra ) and chamber music evenings.

Collaboration with well-known vocal soloists such as B. Eva Lind , Peter Edelmann and Volker Bengl . Together with his wife Yuki Nagatsuka he plays in the piano duo.

Since 1987 he has been teaching piano at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz . In addition to his work as a pianist, Wöllstein has been leading various choirs since he was 20, with a focus on the male choir genre.

Gerhard Wöllstein is known for television, radio and CD recordings and has received various prizes and awards: - Promotion Prize of the City of Kaiserslautern 1988 - Promotion Prize of the Kulturfonds Mainzer Wirtschaft eV 1990 - 1st Prize Internat.
