Gerhard Zimmer (journalist)
Gerhard "Gerd" Zimmer (born February 16, 1939 ; † February 21, 2013 ) was an Austrian journalist .
Life
Gerhard Zimmer was a long-time sports journalist for the daily newspaper Die Presse and ORF , an expert in tennis, alpine skiing and football. Among other things, he was press officer for the Alpine World Ski Championships 2001 in St. Anton and most recently the tennis tournament in the Wiener Stadthalle . He has been a presenter and commentator on sports and live broadcasts. Until his retirement in 1999 he was deputy ORF TV sports director .
Zimmer died on February 21, 2013 at the age of 74 and was buried in the Reichenau an der Rax cemetery.
