Gerhart Brenner

Gerhart Brenner (born September 4, 1918 in Heilbronn ; † June 22, 2006 ) was a German entrepreneur in Heilbronn, who was awarded the Federal Order of Merit in 1992 .

Life

Born in Heilbronn, he was in the Wehrmacht in 1937 and most recently as captain of the reserve in the Heilbronn artillery department I./AR 71 (Ludendorff barracks). In May 1945 he was taken prisoner by the Americans in Tyrol and was released in June 1945. The parental business of Brenner-Schilling (toys, haberdashery and sporting goods) was destroyed in the air raid on December 4, 1944 . In May 1950, together with his mother Anne Brenner (1893–1975) and his wife Rosemarie (* 1921), he reopened the traditional toy store Brenner-Schilling at Fleiner Straße 31. From 1961 to 1973 he was first chairman, then honorary chairman of the Heilbronn tourist office . The Heilbronn Wine Village took place for the first time in 1971 while he was working for the Tourist Association . From 1973 to 1982 he was a member of the General Assembly IHK Heilbronn-Franken and was there as a commercial judge at the District Court of Heilbronn operates. He died at the age of 87.
