Canton of court (Belgium)
A court Canton , French judiciaire Canton , dutch CANTON Gerechtelijk set in Belgium , a number of municipalities to Sprengel of a peace court together. The legal basis for the classification is Article 1 of the Appendix to the Judicial Code of 1967.
The size of the court canton can differ from the size of the electoral canton . In 2017 the number of court cantons was reduced from 187 to 162; they are distributed across the Brussels-Capital Region and the ten provinces as follows :

Remarks
- ↑ The 7 western court cantons in the Halle-Vilvoorde district of the Flemish Brabant province are not assigned to the Court of First Instance in Leuven , but rather in Brussels.
- ↑ The two eastern court cantons in the province of Liège ( German-speaking Community ) are not assigned to the court of first instance in Liège , but rather in Eupen .
