Elective Canton (Belgium)

Elective canton , French Canton électoral , Dutch Kieskanton is a term used in Belgian suffrage. An electoral canton subdivides a number of municipalities in Belgium under a commonelectoralevaluation office. The legal basis for the classification is the table for Art. 87 of the Electoral Code of 1894.

The size of the electoral canton may differ from the size of the court canton . As of 2019, there have been 210 electoral cantons, which are divided among the Brussels-Capital Region and the ten provinces as follows :
