Gerlinda Smaus

Gerlinda Smaus (also: Gerlinda Šmausová , Gerlinda Šmaus ), née Goetzová (born December 13, 1940 in Chranišov / Granesau) is a German-Czech sociologist and criminologist. She is considered a pioneer of feminist criminology in German-speaking countries.

Life

Šmausová studied sociology up to the diploma exam at the Charles University in Prague and then moved to the Saarland University in Saarbrücken , where she worked as a Dr. phil. doctorate (1973) and habilitation in sociology (1997). She then worked as a research assistant or as a private lecturer in Saarbrücken. Since 2001, Šmausová has been a full professor of sociology at Masaryk University in Brno

She is the mother of three children.
