German Cobos

Germán Cobos (actually Germán Sánchez Hernández Cobos ; born July 7, 1927 in Seville ; † January 12, 2015 ) was a Spanish actor .

Life

Cobos studied acting at the Real Conservatorio de Declamación in Madrid and since 1951 has played in a large number of European productions of popular genres; Particularly remembered - alongside three films for director Steno in the late 1950s - are his roles in spaghetti westerns and agent films of the 1960s in which he played the leading role. Sometimes he was referred to as Jerry Cobb or George Gordon . Later in his 110-plus film career, he also starred for Carlos Saura and Pedro Almodóvar . In the popular television series Arrayán he interpreted "Arturo Torres".

In 2010 Cobos received the gold medal of the "Spanish Society for Film History". Several times he was also active on stage.
