Gernot Barth
Gernot Barth (born February 27, 1957 in Frankfurt ) is a German mediator , coach and supervisor . He holds the professorship for conflict management and mediation at the Steinbeis University , Faculty of Business & Economics, as well as the editor of the journal " Die Mediation ".
Life
After studying to be a teacher at the University of Education in Leipzig, Gernot Barth completed his doctorate on educational theory (1987). In 2003 he completed his habilitation at the University of Erfurt on the subject of the relationship between the individual and the community. He received the Venia legendi for the subject social pedagogy.
After several substitute professorships at the universities of Erfurt, Rostock, Braunschweig and Chemnitz, Gernot Barth founded the Institute for Communication and Mediation Leipzig, IKOME Dr. Barth GmbH and Co. KG Gernot Barth is a mediator and licensed trainer for mediation of the Federal Association of Mediation . Since 2007 Gernot Barth has been director of the Academy for Mediation, Social Affairs and Law at the Steinbeis University in Berlin . Since 2013 he has been executive vice-president of the German Forum for Mediation DFfM eV, umbrella organization for mediation. In 2018, Mr. Barth became President of the German Society for Mediation e. V. and in 2019 he received the professorship for conflict management and mediation at the Steinbeis University Berlin.
