Gerry Jochum

Gerrit "Gerry" Jochum (born April 1, 1960 in Pirmasens ) is a German actor , director , author and musician .

Growing up in London , Jochum worked in 1978 alongside his German studies as an assistant director at the Torturm-Theater in Sommerhausen . He toured with the band Experiment and then moved to Berlin.

Between 1980 and 1981 he had an engagement at the Schillertheater in Berlin, where he played in Peter Zadek's Everyone dies for himself production. He played smaller roles in national and international productions, such as 1987 in Helsinki Napoli All Night Long by Mika Kaurismäki with Eddie Constantine and also in 1987 in Zabou , directed by Hajo Gies .

In 1988 he founded Germany's first casting agency, Casting Services Berlin . At the beginning of the 1990s he intensified his speaking activity in the dubbing field , wrote 20 dialogue books, directed dubbing and lent his voice to Brendan Beiser in a recurring role in the X-Files . In addition, he spoke and designed commercials primarily for Radio Energy and built up speaker pools through casting activities. In the mid-1990s he returned to acting and was seen in supporting roles in some television series, such as Wolff's Revier .

After the Berlin casting for Knockin 'on Heaven's Door , he gave up the office. He wrote the screenplay for Gierig with Oskar Roehler . This encounter led to a long-term collaboration with Roehler, also as a performer. He created the documentation on Roehler's elementary particles for Constantin Film . Gerry Jochum, who also appears as Gerd Jochum in some credits , lives and works in Berlin.
