action

Klaus Engelhardt is a dreamer and a good-for-nothing. When the car washer gets lost in his boss's luxury car, he suddenly finds himself in a village that has been forgotten since the Second World War . Finally he thinks he has found the place where he can make his dreams come true. Instead, he is met with resentment and meanness. He is only certain of Martha Pansegrau's affection. But she is the sister of the village mayor and judge Hartmut Pansegrau. He in particular sees the community in the village threatened by Klaus and tries to get him out of the way. But Klaus manages to convince the villagers that he wants to be one of them.

The film was shot in the open-air museum in Molfsee near the Schleswig-Holstein state capital, Kiel .

Reviews

The lexicon of international films described the film as "a no-budget comedy shot for the most part in an open-air museum, full of curious ideas, which sees itself as an homage to northern German idiosyncrasies".

For Prisma it was "[e] in a crazy low-budget flick by Deichking director Michael Söth that shouldn't be taken too seriously", since the fact that "a village has existed for decades undiscovered by the environment [...] absolutely crazy ”. If you ignore this, however, you will see "a bizarre homeland fun with wacky type drawings, which, however, should not be for everyone".

Cinema called the film an "involuntary (?) Parody of M. Night Shyamalan's The Village ", which "exudes the pleasant charm of crazy amateur theater". The final verdict was: "Chubby low-budget posse with weird types and meaningless dialogues."
