Gerstedt was until September 30, 1972 a municipality in the Salzwedel district in the Magdeburg district , German Democratic Republic .

history

On October 1, 1939, the municipalities Groß Gerstedt and Klein Gerstedt from the district of Salzwedel merged to form the municipality of Gerstedt.

In 1956 the first type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG "Altmark", was established. In 1960 an agricultural area of ​​550 hectares was cultivated in the municipality. Of these, the LPG Type III "Altmark" owned 533 hectares. In addition, there were 60 hectares of meadows and 73 hectares of pastures. In 1961 the LPG Type I "Wolfsmühle" was created, which was deleted in 1969. In 1971 the LPG Type III "Altmark" had 28 members. It was deleted in 1974 by a merger.

Incorporation

On October 1, 1972, the municipality of Gerstedt was dissolved by incorporation into Osterwohle. The districts Groß Gerstedt and Klein Gerstedt thus came to Osterwohle.
