Gert Maria Hofmann (born January 15, 1944 in Vienna ) is an Austrian artist.

Life

Hofmann was born in Vienna and grew up in Graz . Numerous trips took the artist through Europe and he lived in Stockholm for years . Hofmann's first works were also created here. After working in Munich and Salzburg , he returned to Graz in 1976 and has lived there as a freelance painter ever since.

Hofmann's artistic palette is multi-layered, he turns to black and white graphics as well as oil pastel drawing, oil painting and acrylic technology. “In his mixed-media pictures, Hofmann created a network with layers of color spots, splashes, dots and lines that has increasingly condensed into a texture.
