Gert Neuhaus (born February 21, 1939 in Berlin ) is a German painter and graphic artist.

Life

Gert Neuhaus was born as the third child of the commercial director and later general agent of AEG Max Neuhaus and his wife Vera. Apart from an interruption during the war years in Radeberg near Dresden , he grew up in Berlin. From 1956 to 1962, he holds a degree in commercial art and design exhibition at Helmut Lortz at the University of the Arts Berlin (West). He then worked at the HP Hoch advertising agency in Esslingen. From 1962 to 1964 he was an exhibition designer at the Baden-Württemberg State Trade Office in Stuttgart, and from 1964 to 1966 he was entrusted with exhibition designs for the Berlin Senate. From 1966 to 1977 he was a gallery owner in Berlin, since 1976 he has been creating murals on house facades in Berlin, Hamburg , Frankfurt am Main , other German cities and abroad. In 1981 he designed the TU Berlin exhibition for the Year of Prussia. From 1982 to 1987 he was an artistic and scientific assistant at the TU Berlin. From 1986 to 2004 he taught as an artistic-scientific art educator and teacher at the Lette-Verein Berlin foundation in the photography, graphics and fashion department, with a focus on nude. From 1994 to 1996 he had various teaching assignments at the UdK (Department 1 “Nude in Space”), since 2000 teaching assignments with the right to examinations in the subject “Anatomical drawing and movement studies” in the advanced master's degree in stage design at the TU Berlin.

In 1976 Neuhaus began designing and executing large gable walls and facade paintings, especially for private clients and property developers; Among other things, he designed multiplex cinemas in major German cities as well as interiors in hotels, hospitals and private swimming pools in Germany and abroad. These murals established his worldwide fame. So far 46 murals as high as a house have been created with weatherproof silicate and acrylic paints , most of them in Berlin.
