Gertrud Gröninger
Gertrud Gröninger (* around 1650 ; † 1722 ) was a Westphalian sculptor .
She came from the sculptor family Gröninger. Her father was Dietrich Gröninger , her mother Engelina Rabeling, her brother Johann Mauritz Gröninger .
She worked as a sculptor in Paderborn . Among other things, Gertrud Gröninger created the figures for the high altar in Hadmersleben Monastery between 1695 and 1698 . She created a crucifix for the Heerse Abbey . In addition, numerous other portraits in the area of the Paderborn bishopric and beyond come from her workshop. Statues in the Oelinghausen monastery and the miraculous image of the “Mother of Seven Joys” in the parish and pilgrimage church of St. Joseph Marienloh are attributed to her.
A street in Paderborn is named after her.
