Gertrud Siemers

Gertrud Siemers (born April 12, 1895 in Lübeck ; † July 25, 1984 there ) was a German painter.

Life

She was first a student of Heinrich Eduard Linde-Walther at the art school of Willibald Leo von Lütgendorff-Leinburg in Lübeck and then went to Berlin as a student of W. Jaeckel . Further studies took her to Munich and Florence . She returned to Lübeck and had a studio here. In 1919 she was one of the founding members of the Association of Lübeck Artists , today's Association of Lübeck Painters and Sculptors . In 1927 she was a member of the jury on the extended board. In 1955 she lived in the St. Johannis Jungfrauen-Kloster on Dr.-Julius-Leber-Straße 73.

Works

In addition to portraits, flowers and landscapes in particular have been preserved. In 1953 she created a room emblem as art in architecture in the then Anna-Siemssen-Schule, now the school on the Wakenitz ( room emblem )
