The Energy Saving Act ( EnEG ) is part of German commercial administrative law. Its full title is Energy Conservation Law in Buildings .
It was adopted in the course of the first oil crisis in 1976, and was last published in 2005. The aim is to save energy in buildings . The law authorizes the federal government to regulate the details of thermal insulation through the Energy Saving Ordinance in such a way that avoidable energy losses are avoided during heating and cooling ( Section 1 (1) EnEG).
