Ghali Jesqaliev

Ghali Näschimedenuly Jesqalijew ( Kazakh Ғали Нәжімеденұлы Есқалиев , Russian Гали Нажмеденович Искалиев Gali Naschmedenowitsch Iskalijew ; born February 6, 1970 in Talovka , Kazakhstan ) is a Kazakh politician . He has been governor of Western Kazakhstan since June 2019 .

Life

Ghali Jesqalijew was born in 1970 in the village of Talowka in what is now the Schänibek district in western Kazakhstan. His father is the politician Näschimeden Jesqalijew . He graduated from the Western Kazakhstan Agricultural Institute in 1993 . In 2009 he received another degree in economics from Almaty Management University.

After graduating from university, he began his professional career on a farm before he started working for Bank TuranAlem in 1994 . Here he held various positions up to the department head of the bank in Western Kazakhstan. From 1998 to 2003 he was director of the Temirbank branch in Oral . From January 2003 to February 2004 he headed the Department of Business Promotion and Development of Western Kazakhstan. From February 2004 to June 2006 he was head of a regional investment center. From June 2006, Jesqalijew worked for the Kazakh Development Bank, where he was deputy chairman of the board from March 2008 and then chairman of the board from June 2009.

From March 2012 he held the post of Deputy Governor of the Shambyl region for the first time in a political office. From June 2014 he was Deputy Governor of the Aqtöbe Region . However, he only held this office until September of the same year. From January 18, 2019, he was Deputy Governor of Western Kazakhstan. He has been Governor of Western Kazakhstan since June 13, 2019.
