Ghemon (* 1. April 1982 in Avellino as Gianluca Picariello ) is an Italian rapper .

Career

Picariello recorded his first demo in 2000 under the name Sangamaro . After moving to Rome , he joined the rap collective of Soulville Records and released his first EP in 2006 as Ghemon for free download, Ufficio immaginazione . With the DJ Fester Tarantino he released the mixtape Qualcosa cambierà in 2007 . Ghemon's actual debut album La rivincita dei buoni was released at the end of the year. For the next album E poi, all'improvviso, impazzire he worked with Love 4Tet (DJ Tsura and Fid Mella).

Under the pseudonym Gilmar , the rapper released the EP Embrionale in 2010 , which is dedicated to Jon Brion . In 2012, Qualcosa è cambiato, the continuation of the mixtape from 2007, was released. In the same year, he contributed the title song Come non detto to the film Was du nicht sagst in a duet with Syria and worked with Bassi Maestro and Marco Polo (EP Per la mia gente ) as well with Fabri Fibra (in the song Teoria e pratica RMX ). After a duet with Neffa ( Dove sei ) and the free mixtape Aspetta un minuto (2013), the next album Orchidee was released in 2014 .

The album Mezzanotte followed in 2017 . At the Sanremo Festival 2018 he supported Diodato and Roy Paci on the duet evening . In 2019 he himself entered the race for the first time in Sanremo and presented the song Rose viola .
