Gheorghe Popescu (diplomat)
Gheorghe Popescu (* the 30th May 1942 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian diplomat in retirement .
Career
From 1962 to 1967 he studied economics at the Bucharest Business Academy . In 1967 a child was born by him.
From 1972 to 1977 he received his doctorate on "Rolul cooperării tehnico-ştiinţifice internaţionale în reducerea decalajelor şi subdezvoltării” (The role of international technical and scientific cooperation in reducing gaps and underdevelopment).
From 1967 to 1974 he worked as a journalist.
From 1973 to 1976 he was ambassador in Bangui and at the same time was enrolled as a university assistant and associate professor at the Academy of Economics.
From 1977 to 1982 he was Chargé d'affaires in Abidjan .
From 1982 to 1988 he was employed in the Africa department. From 1988 to 1990 he was Counselor in London . From 1990 to 1991 he was deputy head of the Africa department.
From 1991 to 1996 he was ambassador to Harare .
From 1996 to 1997 he was in charge of Africa, Asia, Latin America and Australia.
From June 9, 1997 to September 12, 2000 he was Ambassador to Tel Aviv .
From 2001 to 2005 he was Ministerial Counselor in the Liaison Office for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Romania) - Chamber of Deputies (Romania) . From 2005 to 2007 he was Managing Director of SC Longbridge Buh SA From 2003 to 2007 he was Associate Professor at the Romanian-American University and lectured on the following topics:

From 2005 to 2006 he was Associate Professor at Valahia University of Târgovişte .
