The Ghochhar Sar is a mountain in the Hinduraj Mountains .
location
The Ghochhar Sar is located in the Chitral district in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa . The mountain has a height of 6249 m . The Ishporili Glacier extends on its north side . In the west, the Sachiokuh glacier flows north. The Laspur , the left source river of the Mastuj , flows along its eastern flank in a northerly direction.
Ascent history
In 1967 the Ghochhar Sar was first climbed by a four-man Italian expedition from the west . On June 27th Carlo Alberto Pinelli and Guido Machetto reached the summit from the Sachiokuh glacier.
A year later, an Austrian expedition succeeded in a second ascent of Ghochhar Sar. Arndt Schüssler, Hilmar Sturm and Heinz Badura reached the summit over the west ridge on August 9, 1968, climbing from the Ishporili glacier.
