Giacomo Cantelmo
Giacomo Cantelmo (born June 13, 1645 in Naples , † December 11, 1702 there ) was a cardinal of the Catholic Church .
Giacomo Cantelmo received the episcopal ordination on October 3, 1663 by Cardinal Carlo Pio in the church of Sant'Andrea della Valle in Rome together with Francesco Pignatelli ; Co-consecrators were Giuseppe Bologna and Gregorio Giuseppe Gaetani .
Cantelmo worked for the Roman Curia and papal diplomacy. Among other things, he was nuncio in Venice, Switzerland, Poland and Austria. Cantelmo was Archbishop of Capua from 1690 to 1691 , and Archbishop of Naples from 1691 until his death . Pope Alexander VIII made him a cardinal in February 1690. From 1700 until his death he was also the camerlengo of the cardinal college.
