James Raymond "Jimmi" Simpson (born November 21, 1975 in Hackettstown , New Jersey ) is an American actor .

Life and accomplishments

Simpson has two older brothers. He graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania . Simpson made his debut in a larger role in the comedy Losers, directed by Amy Heckerling (2000), in which he starred alongside Jason Biggs , Mena Suvari , Greg Kinnear and Dan Aykroyd . He played one of the leading roles in the short film Slo-Mo (2001).

In the action comedy Spy Girls - DEBS (2004) Simpson played one of the bigger roles alongside Jordana Brewster , Sara Foster , Meagan Good and Devon Aoki ; in Western Seraphim Falls (2006) he appeared on the side of Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson . In the comedy Itty Bitty Titty Committee (2007) he starred alongside Melonie Diaz , Melanie Mayron and Jenny Shimizu . Simpson also played the role of patient Daniel Bresson in the television series Dr. House (2009). In 2011 he had a small appearance in the US television series How I Met Your Mother and took over from 2011 to 2012 of the A & E Network - drama series Breakout Kings the lead role of Lloyd Lowery . In 2012 he was also seen in the film adaptation of the novel Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter .

Simpson married fellow actor Melanie Lynskey in April 2007 . In April 2012, the couple separated again.
