Gian Giorgio Trissino (born July 22, 1877 in Vicenza , † December 22, 1963 in Milan ; also Giovanni Giorgio Trissino ) was an Italian rider .
At the Summer Olympics in Paris in 1900, he became Olympic champion in high jumping on his horse Oreste with a height of 1.85 meters . The French rider Dominique Gardères reached the same height on his horse Canéla and thus shared first place with Gian Giorgio Trissino, who also finished fourth in the same competition with his second horse Melopo . In the long jump he won the silver medal with Oreste with a distance of 5.70 meters behind the Belgian Constant van Langhendonck , who reached 6.10 meters on extra dry riding.
Gian Giorgio Trissino became the first Olympic champion in Italian sports history.
