Giancarlo Andretta
Giancarlo Andretta (* 1962 in Bassano del Grappa , Italy ) is an Italian conductor and composer .
Andretta received his education in Venice , Castelfranco Veneto and at the Vienna University of Music . He worked for a number of years at the Vienna State Opera , in 1990 he joined the “Radio Sinfonie Orchester” (RSO) in Vienna as Pinchas Steinberg's assistant and received a piano professorship at the Vienna Music Academy. From 1994 to 1997 he was engaged by the Graz Opera House as a “consultant” to the artistic director and as a permanent guest conductor. Andretta has been chief conductor of the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra in Aarhus ( Denmark ) since 2003 , where he is contractually bound until 2008.
