Giant Sparrow is an independent computer game developer based in Santa Monica , California under the direction of Creative Director Ian Dallas. The company's first game was The Unfinished Swan , which was released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and 2014 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita . Most recently, Giant Sparrow released What Remains of Edith Finch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows in 2017 . Annapurna Interactive , a subsidiary of Annapurna Pictures , acted as publisher .
Games
The Unfinished Swan is a game set in a surreal, completely empty world in which the player, a boy named Monroe, chases after a swan that has escaped a painting. The player has to throw paint on his completely white surroundings in order to reveal the world. The game was released for the PlayStation 3 on October 23, 2012 and then for the PlayStation 4 and Vita.
What Remains of Edith Finch is a narrative adventure game in which players explore the Finch family home as the title character and experience various stories that take place in the last moments of each family member's life. It was released for the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows on April 25, 2017, and later for the Xbox One. At the Game Awards 2017 , the game won the award for best storyline.
For the next, yet untitled, Game of Giant Sparrow, the team was of works like Ico , Windosill, Spirited Away , The Life of Birds , the works of Winsor McCay and early Disney films like Bambi and Fantasia inspired.
