Annapurna Games, LLC ( doing business as Annapurna Interactive) is an Annapurna Pictures subsidiary and publisher of computer games . The titles published include What Remains of Edith Finch .
history
With the founding of Annapurna Interactive on December 1, 2016, the film production company Annapurna Pictures wanted to expand its activities to the computer game industry. The company's employees include producer Neale Hemrajani (also a manager at Annapurna Pictures) and head of technology, James Masi. Annapurna also hired several computer game veterans, including Nathan Gary, Deborah Mars, Hector Sanchez, and Jeff Legaspi who worked at Sony Interactive Entertainment and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment . The game designer Jenova Chen also acts as a consultant for the company. Annapurna Interactive's goal is to produce games that are "personal, emotional and original".
On the day it was founded, the company announced several publishing deals it had concluded with several independent developers . These included u. a. Gorogoa , What Remains of Edith Finch , an untitled project by Keita Takahashi ( Katamari Damacy ), which was later called Wattam , and an unannounced game by Ken Wong, the designer of Monument Valley , which was released in early 2018 as Florence . In 2017, Annapurna announced more independent developer titles that they publish: The Artful Escape , Ashen , and Telling Lies .
