Gideon Omokirio (born October 12, 1976 ) is a Solomon soccer player .

Career

society

From January 2001 to December 2001 Omokirio was with the Solomonic club Laugu FC under contract and then moved to Kossa FC. In 2006 and 2007 he was able to win the Solomon Islands National Club Championship , the top division in the country, and took part in the final of the OFC Champions League against Waitakere United from New Zealand , but lost in two games. In 2010 he won the Champions League with Hekari United FC . In spring 2011 he returned to Honiara in the Solomon Islands and has since played as a player-coach for Koloale FC .

National team

For the national team of the Solomon Islands Omokirio played since 1996 in the qualifying tournaments for the soccer world championship , as well as in the OFC Nations Cups 1996 , 2000 (2 goals), 2002 and 2004 . He was a member of the team that played against Australia in the 2004 OFC Nations Cup final . The defender played a total of 30 international matches and scored four goals.

As a trainer

In 2011 he started his coaching career as a player-coach for Koloale FC . Since 2013 he has also been the national coach for the Solomonic beach soccer team.

Beach soccer

In addition to his involvement in grass football, he also represented his country at the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup . He acted as national coach at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013 in Tahiti.
