Greedy art projects
Gierig Kunstprojekte is a sole proprietorship founded by Lieselotte Gierig in 2003 in Frankfurt am Main with nationwide exhibition venues. The activity lies in art mediation, curating exhibitions, trading in contemporary art and advising on the establishment, dissolution, management and digitization of art collections. The focus of the collection and exhibition is on art from the post-war period from 1945 and the present from West and East Germany (formerly GDR), Austria and Switzerland. The company works with a network of appraisers, auction houses and other art galleries.
history
In 2003 the sole proprietorship Lieselotte Gierig was founded and the name "Gierig Kunstprojekte" was used for the business direction. Since then, the focus has been on curatorial activity and the realization of exhibitions as part of art projects. The second generation of the Gierig family has been active in the company since 2013. These continue, among other things, the idea of promoting talented academy students and graduates with the exhibition series “News from German Art Academies”. In this context, contemporary art from master classes will be shown.
Activity and focus
Gierig Kunstprojekte presents artists from post-war German history as well as the present and promotes talents from the contemporary art scene.
The spectrum of artists ranges from Bernard Schultze , Jürgen Brodwolf or Dieter Krieg to master students such as Hanne Kroll, Lydia Thomas or Adrian Wald, with a focus on “classical painting” classes at German art academies. “News from German Art Academies” is a series of exhibitions for young art that accompanies talented students, master class students and graduates of German art academies as they enter the art market. The spectrum of the selected works ranges from painting, conceptual art, installations, photography, sculpture to digital art forms.
Greedy Collection
The company has an extensive private collection of works by important artists of modern and contemporary painting and sculpture from West and East Germany (formerly GDR), Austria and Switzerland. The Gierig Collection includes works by painters such as Horst Antes , Joseph Beuys , Karl Marx , Marwan , Dieter Krieg , Jürgen Brodwolf , Hartwig Ebersbach and Rudolf Schoofs . Another focus of the collection is on sculpture such as Alfred Hrdlicka , Michael Schoenholtz or Emil Cimiotti . Exhibits from the collection were on loan to the Städtische Galerie Parterre in Berlin, the Kunsthalle Rostock , the Museum DASA Dortmund or the Museum Ahrenshoop .
