Gift Mpho Leremi (born October 13, 1984 in Soweto , † September 3, 2007 at Alberton ) was a South African football player .

Club career

The attacking midfielder played for the Pimville Giants as a youth . He then went to the Orlando Pirates , where he made his first division debut on August 10, 2002 against Moroka Swallows . In the summer of 2007 he switched to the reigning master Mamelodi Sundowns . On September 3, 2007, on his way back from a soccer game in the CAF Confederation Cup in Cameroon, he was killed in a traffic accident near Alberton.

National team

In 2004 and 2005 Leremi was four times in the South African national team. He made his debut on November 17, 2004 in Johannesburg in a 2-1 win in a friendly against Nigeria . His last appearance for Bafana Bafana was on July 13, 2005 in the group game against Guatemala at the CONCACAF Gold Cup in the USA.
