Gilbert Oscar Raasch

Gilbert Oscar Raasch (* 1903 in Milwaukee ; † 1999 ) was an American geologist and paleontologist.

Raasch has been involved in the geology of Wisconsin since his youth and studied at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he received his doctorate. He also worked at the Milwaukee Public Museum.

Raasch tirelessly collected fossils that made up an integral part of the Milwaukee Public Museum. He was also a curator at the Geological Museum of the University of Wisconsin in Madison. In particular, he dealt with stratigraphy and fossils of the Paleozoic Era in Wisconsin ( Cambrian to Devonian )

He erstbeschrieb 1939 Aglaspis spinifer , representatives of trilobites -like Aglaspididae .
