Gilberto Carlos Nascimento , better known as Betinho , (born June 14, 1966 in Ipiranga , São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian football player.
Career
society
Gilberto began his career in 1984 at CA Juventus , where he was under contract for four years. In 1988 he moved to the top club Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte , for which Betinho was used 36 times in two years (six goals). In 1989 he moved to the traditional club Palmeiras São Paulo , where he was under contract for three years, from 1990 to 1992. In his first year at the club, he played 20 league games and got the ball into the goal six times. In 1991 he played 17 league games and scored four times. In his senior year he played 16 league games and scored a total of three goals. In 1992 he returned to Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte before he ventured abroad a year later.
After eight years in Brazil , he moved to the Far East to the Japanese club Shonan Bellmare , where he was under contract from 1993 to 1996. In his first year at the club, he played 17 league games and scored eleven goals. In the year before the club was renamed, he played 37 league games and scored 24 goals. In the two years he also played six games in the Kaiser Cup and scored a total of three times. He also played six J. League Cup games, scoring three goals. After the club was renamed, he played 50 league games and scored 25 times. In his last year at the club, he played 28 league games and scored seven goals. Betinho also played five games in the Kaiser Cup (two goals). In 1996 he was able to show another 14 games in the J. League Cup, in which he scored a goal.
After five years in Japan, Betinho went back to his homeland. His first club after his return was the SC Internacional , where he signed a contract for two years. In 1998 he was used in 20 league games and scored three goals. 1999 Betinho was active for Guarani FC , where he played seven goalless league games.
From 2000 to 2003 he was also under contract with the clubs São José EC , SE Gama (5 games / 1 goal), EC Santo André , Ipatinga FC and AA Francana , until he finally ended his active career in December 2003.
National team
In 1988 Betinho played an A international match for the Brazilian national soccer team against Belgium (2-0), which, however, remained his only international match.
