Gilberto da Silva

Gilberto da Silva (* 1965 in Florianópolis ) is a Brazilian Lutheran theologian.

Life

He studied Protestant theology in São Leopoldo and Erlangen and history in Canoas . After ordination in 1992 he was pastor in São Leopoldo and Lage - Blomberg . After completing his doctorate in 2001 at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg , he was professor for systematic theology at the Lutheran Theological University in Oberursel from 2002 to 2003 , lecturer in historical theology from 2003 to 2008 and has been professor of historical theology since 2008 .

His main research interests are the history of missions and religions, the late Middle Ages and the Reformation, and the history of independent Evangelical Lutheran churches in Germany.
