Gilda Horvath (* 1983 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and Roma activist.

Life

Horvat's family has lived in Austria for more than three generations. She belongs to the Roma group of Lovara . Horvath states that her great-grandmother came from Germany and other relatives came from Hungary. Grew up in Vienna- Floridsdorf , graduated from evening school and studied journalism and media management at the WKW University of Applied Sciences.

Horvath is part of the Roma editorial team at ORF.

Gilda Horvath writes for the anti-racism column of the feminist magazine “ Attacks”, for Augustin and for the online magazine for migrants Migrazine . She is also the chairperson of the Lovara-Roma Austria organization. The association is committed to the preservation and promotion of the culture of the Lovara Roma in Austria and speaks out against all forms of racism, antiziganism and sexism.
