The IG Kultur Austria (IGKÖ) is the cultural and political advocacy and umbrella organization of Austrian cultural initiatives. With around 360 members (as of 2015) and national organizations in the federal states, it is the largest cultural interest group in Austria . The non-profit association was founded in Salzburg in 1990 and is based in Vienna .

Country representation

The following cultural umbrella organizations in the federal states also act as national representatives for IG Kultur Austria . However, they are independent legal bodies and also members.

Publications such as a magazine, radio broadcasts, books and press releases on mostly cultural-political topics are issued, which are intended to support the work of the members.

The movement detector culture is the radio series of the IGKÖ, which has been broadcasted Austria-wide with 118 issues since 2006 (as of July 2015) by the free radios .

Partnerships

The IG Kultur Austria is a member of the Austrian Cultural Council , the National Association of Austrian cultural associations, advocacy-profit organizations  (IGOs), and the associations European Network of Cultural Centers  (ENCC) and On the Move  (OTM).
