Gilius van Bergeijk

Gilius van Bergeijk (born November 7, 1946 in The Hague ) is a Dutch composer and music teacher.

Van Bergeijk studied oboe and saxophone from 1966 to 1972 , then composition with Kees van Baaren and electronic music with Dick Raaijmakers at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague . Since 1972 he has been teaching electronic music at the Koninklijk Conservatorium.

He worked with improvisation musicians such as Willem Breuker or Misha Mengelberg , with the Orkest De Volharding and Het Nieuwe Leven and led his own group Gilius' Haagsche Hofje . He was one of the founders of the De Zes Winden woodwind sextet .
