Gilles Béhat

Gilles Béhat (born September 3, 1949 in Lille ) is a French director .

Life

Béhat began his film career in 1972 as an actor in smaller roles before moving to the director's chair the following year. After two short films, he made his feature film debut Haro in 1976, the start of a series of now almost 40 films, some of which he wrote the scripts for.

He has shot exclusively for television since the 1990s, including five episodes of the long-running series about Commissioner Moulin , before making a surprise return to the big screen in 2009 with a feature film. In addition, he occasionally worked for theater stages.

Toutlecine describes his work as “that of a committed and strong director who shows loners in their search for love and freedom. In the best scenes he is able to draw the lonely fighters with tender poetry ”.
