Gilles Petitpierre

Gilles Petitpierre (born January 22, 1940 , resident in Couvet and Neuchâtel ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

Petitpierre is the son of the former Federal Councilor Max Petitpierre . He studied at the University of Neuchâtel . During his student days he became a member of the Swiss Zofinger Association .

On November 26, 1979 he was elected to the National Council in the canton of Geneva and had a seat there until November 24, 1991. He was then elected to the Council of States and remained there until December 3, 1995. On March 11, 1998, he ran unsuccessfully in the Federal Council election .

Gilles Petitpierre is married to Anne Petitpierre and lives in Geneva .
